Mother's Day!

We had a fun, special Mother's Day this year! 

Emma in her dress from Tia Maria - and black shoes with socks as requested by her Nanny so she would look like the little girl from the 'New Shoes' poem Granny had on her wall and Emma now has on her shelf (thanks Janny :)! 

We had a family party at Jadd, Christina and Ivy's house!

Mother's Day Surprises!

Grammy helped Emma paint a canvas for a Mother's Day gift surprise! They painted while I was at work a few days before Mother's Day and they had a lot of messy fun!

Emma is quite the artist, right!!??!

Ignacio had a surprise gift for my mom and me - a special photo book with my weekly pregnancy pictures, newborn pics of Emma and pages with pics of Emma with me, my mom, and Grumps :) Sweet surprise!

First Tooth!!!

She has a tooth!!

We didn't even know it was coming through - she hasn't acted any different than normal! She has sucked her thumb a little more than normal during the past few days, but that is it! Wishfully thinking that all of the teething stage will go this easily!

We think the second tooth is going to show itself soon!

We get a little messy sometimes! Notice the hair standing up on the right side of her head. She likes to take a bite, stick her finger in her mouth then rub her face from mouth, over her eye, to the back of her head.

We started chunks of food last Friday and she is having fun with it...it gets even messier!!

This was from day one and the mango was too slippery...I've since learned to sprinkle a little of her cereal on it for easier gripping!

9 Month Checkup!

Nine Month Stats!

She weighed 15 lbs, 15 oz and was 26-1/2" long!

5% for weight/ 15% for height/ 75% for head

Her head grew a lot since her 6 months' checkup...they even came back into the exam room to re-check it! She's our super smart girl!

We would have not dreaded Tuesday's checkup appointment if we had known that our sweet baby girl didn't have to get shots this time!! They did have to prick her toe for a blood test (she has to start taking mulit-vitamins with iron). She didn't even cry with the toe prick! She was excited about the bright band-aids on her toe and kept trying to put her band-aid clad toe in her mouth!

9 Months!

Emma has been on the move! She scoots all over the place - she cruises around furniture and wants to stand up all of the time! She has a huge personality and knows what faces and noises each of her favorite people love best. She shows Nan her pout face, shakes her head at her daddy, makes her grunt noises for Scotty, bounces and "dances" for her Grammy, and gives me big slobbery kisses :) It seems she sometimes intentionally says dada, mama, bubba, baba (bottle or bye bye) and papá.

She is now eating three meals a day and really, really loves food! She even loves avocado now! She has stopped waking up late at night or early in the morning. Most days she sleeps from 8:00/9:00-7:15/7:30 and takes two or three naps. I'm so happy she has quit waking up at 4:45 or 5 every day! 

We had an adventurous 9 month photo shoot last Thursday! It was late when Ignacio and I got home from work, so we knew we had to work quick before our happy baby got sleepy and fussy! We bribed her with puffs - her favorite! 

She was movin', scootin', twistin' and climbin' for this month's pics!
